A group of west side prostitutes in Chicago have decided to form a labor union. They state for healthier and safer working conditions. They call themselves Pimps UP Hoes Down (PUHD) the announced their decision during a prayer vigil held on Madison Avenue at a churck owned by Bishop Magic Don Juan, a former pimp turned evnangelist, who supports them.
They carried a sign that read "No justice, No piece"Virgin, a spokesperson for the group stated why they decided on the controversial and seemingly demeaning name.
"This has been a term of shame and degradation for too long amongst us hookers," said Virgin. "We wanted to turn it around and make it a source of empowerment. Pimps need to get UP and take care of their business in a right way. If they don't hookers are not going to stage a sit-in, but a shut DOWN of all activity. In other words, if we don't overcome, then neither will another client."
