MLK Holiday Festivities

6:30-9:30pm, annual King Peace program featuring Rev. Bernard Lafayette, MLK Center Freedom Hall, 449 Auburn (at Boulevard). Music, youth performance, progressive market place. Monday, Jan. 17 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Holiday

2011 marks the 25th year of the nation recognizing and honoring the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The annual Atlanta march begins at 1pm and travels down Peachtree to Auburn to the King gravesite. There are many contingents to join including labor, students, faith communities etc but a number of peace and justice organizations, including the IAC, gather at Peachtree and Auburn with banners and signs and join the march at the end.
